Disabled American Veterans will be bringing its service to a Kenmore post Monday, assisting veterans and their families with pending claims for benefits and other assistance.

The DAV Roll of Honor Chapter 120 will park its Mobile Service Office at the American Legion Milton J. Brounshidle Post, 3354 Delaware Avenue, from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. With its, they'll bring resources to assist individuals with pending claims or cases awaiting an appeal.

Mark Cheney with Chapter 120 explained to WBFO the most common examples of cases facing appeals.

"Primarily, it's a claim that did not have sufficient, original documentation submitted after the first initial consult," he said. "That is where the appeal process comes into play."

Cheney says those interested in assistance Monday must bring their DD214 (certificates of release or discharge), a legal form of identification and any documents needed to assist in the case.
