Sean Ryan has won the race for Buffalo mayor, taking more than 71% of the total vote with 98% of votes counted according to the Erie County Board of Elections. -Holly Kirkpatrick, BTPM NPR

Amherst Town Supervisor candidate Dan Gagliardo, and board candidates John Trabert and Mary Dormer, have spoken at Republican election headquarters thanking their supporters after Democrat candidates in their races appear to have won.

Gagliardo shared that this was the "most humbling experience of my life."

He also added, "we did a great thing" and said "I actually got a lot better."

Mamdani is New York City's next mayor

According to NPR reports, Zohran Mamdani will be the next Mayor of New York City. Mamdani will be the first Muslim and first person of South Asian descent to serve as NYC Mayor. At 34 years old, he will be the youngest mayor in over a century.
