New York State’s Empire State Development, through its local nonprofit community organization partners, is seeking contractors who would like to be included in the bidding process on future commercial and mixed-use building renovation projects throughout the East Side of Buffalo such as façade and commercial space improvements, roofing, masonry, structural repairs and more.

The Niagara Hospice Gran Fondo is an annual fundraising event that combines scenic cycling with community celebration, all to support the compassionate end-of-life care provided by Niagara Hospice. Held on August 9, 2025, starting off at the Niagara Hospice campus in Lockport, NY, this event travels through Niagara County offering riders of all levels the opportunity to participate in a 15, 33 or 62 mile ride. Following the race, from 10 am to 1pm, riders have free access to the after party including food, beer & music. Not a rider? with a ticket purchase of 30$ you can enjoy the after party too!
Join us at the Iroquois National Wildlife Refuge Visitor Center (1101 Casey Rd.) for a full evening of programming on August 9th, 2025! The refuge is typically closed at night so for this evening we will be offering the following activities:
• Indoor Activities/Crafts and Nature Store from 5pm-9pm • Nocturnal Life Through Indigenous Eyes presentation with Marve Jacobs at 5pm (RSVP required) • Live Owl Talk at 6:30pm (RSVP required) • Lake Sturgeon Talk and Feeding with Denise Clay from the Lower Great Lakes Fish & Wildlife Conservation Office 8pm (RSVP required) • Night Bug Discovery with Gabriela Cardona Rivera from the Lower Great Lakes Fish & Wildlife Conservation Office at 8:30pm (RSVP required) • Sturgeon Moon Watch from 8:30pm-9:00pm
