Aimed at students who have no carving experience or are self-taughtcarvers who lack specialized technical training, this series of classesintroduces tool safety, sharpening, material selection, and finishing.Participants will work on a different project each week, includingcarving in the round and relief carving. Fee includes instruction, a toolkit to keep, and materials for projects; students bring a pencil to class.
Admission to this class is with instructor approval or completion of thebeginner course. Our project is a carving an American bison in the round.A pattern and wood will be supplied. The students must bring their owntools including: a ruler, a pencil, two 6 inch c-clamps, a carving arm, and anon-slip pad. –OR- Students may supply their own pattern and wood andreceive guidance on their project. Tools must be supplied by the student.

Classes will be hosted at three different locations across Western New York, including East Leaf Dispensary (Buffalo), Devil's Lettuce (West Seneca), & Next Leaf Lounge (Killbuck).
Home Growers Workshop begins on May 5, 2025, and runs through May 21, 2025, with weekly classes on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. During the workshop series, we will offer a guide to successfully growing cannabis at home. We will provide valuable information and practical tips for both beginner (Tuesday) and intermediate (Wednesday) growers.

Featuring local historian, lecturer and author Tim Shaw. Take a step back in time to December 21, 1883 to attend the wake of 9-month-old Jacob Diehl and discover how superstitions and traditions such as covering mirrors and photographs with black crepe fabric, art made from human hair and mortuary jewelry came to be. Learn about the mourning period for men and women and what the fashions were like. Phrases like “basket case” and “dead ringer” had their roots during the 1800’s; hear about their origins. The event is free.
