The Girl Scouts of Western New York are celebrating 85-years at Seven Hills Camp Saturday. The camp is located in Holland, New York. WBFO'S Eileen Buckley spoke to one of the leaders of the local Girl Scouts about the celebration that will feature former girl scouts from the first decade of the camp.
Janet DePetrillo is the Director of Outdoor Program with the Girl Scouts of Western New York. She says the camp has provided a summer program to local girls for more than eight decades.
"The first time it served about 45 girls and much has changed over the years as you can imagine," said DePetriollo. We have people coming that were at camp back in the 40's and 50's to people that just recently went the last couple of years," stated DePetrillo.
A day long celebration will be held at Seven Hills including a special camp fire to end the day.
