An east side teenager has achieved a top honor with the Boy Scouts. Saturday he will be honored with his Eagle Scout badge. WBFO's senior reporter Eileen Buckley spoke with the teen and his mother about staying focused on a path to success.
16-year-old Brandon Barksdale is already award winning. He received the Buffalo NAACP Youth Award last year. In 2013, he received Youth of the Year award from his church. St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church on the city's east side.
Saturday, during a ceremony with Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown, Barksdale will receive his Eagle Scout badge at 6 p.m. Saturday at St. Columba Brigid on Hickory Street.
Barksdale will step forward as a member of Troop 139-to receive the prestigious Eagle Scout honor, the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts.
