In 2011, WBFO News profiled Samantha Doman, a Buffalo Public Schools student who participated in the Cultures of Giving Legacy Initiative, where she traveled to Washington D.C. The program provides scholarships to low-income youth for college. Doman has successfully completed her first year of college as a math major at RIT. WBFO's Eileen Buckley met with Doman and chair of the initiative, Jennifer Parker, to discuss how the program inspires youth to succeed in school.
