Voters in six area school districts rejected spending plans on Tuesday. The margin of defeat was decisive in Clarence where 58-percent voted against a plan to increase taxes by nearly ten percent.

Voter turnout in Clarence set a record. Lines of voters were extensive throughout the day. Budgets were also rejected in Niagara-Wheatfield, Lewiston-Porter, Alden, Wilson and Bemus Point.
The margin of defeat in Niagara-Wheatfield was by a mere three votes.
