Police detail 6-vehicle weekend crash that killed 2

Town of Tonawanda Police have released a timeline of the events that led to a six-vehicle crash Friday night at Military Road and Sheridan Drive that killed two people.

One of the victims, Tyler Lichtenberger, 21, of North Tonawanda, apparently confronted another male at the Sheridan Parkside Minimart west of Military at about 10:35 p.m. and pulled a gun. Police say he tried to run down that other male and his female companion in the parking lot before driving away.

A short time later, police say Lichtenberger pulled up next to another vehicle at Military and Skillen in Buffalo and got into a vulgar tirade against the driver before again pulling a gun. He rammed the other vehicle and took off at a high rate of speed northbound on Military.

A town police officer reported Lichtenberger driving about 80 mph and began to follow him. When Lichtenberger reached Sheridan, police say he ran the red light at about 100 miles per hour.

He and his female companion, Gianna Ameno, 21, also of North Tonawanda, were ejected and killed upon collision with two other vehicles at about 10:50 p.m. Neither victim was wearing a seat belt. They leave behind a three-year-old son.
