Valentino Dixon was released in September after serving 27 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. Now, another Buffalo man has been sentenced for a fatal shooting that killed one man and injured two others nearly three decades ago.
The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Lamarr Scott, 46, has been sentenced to 8 1/3-25 years in prison for firing a semi-automatic weapon near Bailey and East Delavan avenues in August 1991. Killed was Torriano Jackson, 17, while Jackson's brother Aaron and a bystander were injured.

DA John Flynn says Scott confessed hours after the crime occurred, but Dixon was convicted anyway.
Although free, Dixon remains convicted on one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree for his involvement in the shooting. In September, the DA consented to an order to vacate Dixon's murder, attempted murder and assault convictions.
