Police in the Town of Tonawanda are seeking a suspect who held up the Bank of America branch on Delaware Avenue near Sheridan Drive Thursday afternoon and left behind a suspicious device.

The suspect is described as a white male in his 50s with a scruffy beard and a plaid cap. He fled by foot with an undetermined amount of cash and left behind a device that was taken away by the Erie County Bomb Squad.

"The suspect demanded money, left a possible explosive device in the bank, and fled on foot," Tonawanda police captain John Scott told reporters at the scene.
