Event Details:

Please join Literacy Buffalo Niagara, a local nonprofit and the region's sole provider of free, 1:1 adult literacy tutoring in Erie and Niagara counties, as we celebrate our 60th anniversary surrounded by exotic plant life at The Buffalo & Erie County Botanical Gardens. For 60 years, our longstanding mission has always been to develop literacy skills for adults in need of our vital services. We are humbled to celebrate this milestone as we reflect upon our journey through six impactful decades of empowering individuals through adult literacy tutoring in our region, provided by trained community volunteers, who are the heartbeat of our agency. Guests will partake in a delicious selection of heavy hors d’oeuvres and drinks, dress up as their favorite literary characters, and tour the venue’s lush gardens while learning about our history. The Hamburg Farmers Market has been a Southtowns staple since 1977. Attendees are free to explore a variety of agricultural products from local farmers, ranchers, homesteaders, and culinarians.
