This week on Theater Talk, Anthony and Peter talk about Shakespeare in Delaware Park's 50th season opening of RICHARD III with Chris Avery excellent in the title role, while Anthony was in NYC for a Charles Busche cast reunion of VAMPIRE LESBIANS OF SODOM, as well as MAYBE HAPPY ENDING (about robot love) and CALL ME IZZY starring Jean Smart. At the Shaw Festival, DEAR LIAR in the Spiegeltent (btw Buffalo's own Katharine Cornell's final role) gives an inside view of Shaw the man, while ANYTHING GOES is as wonderful as expected (directed by Kimberly Rampersad and starring Mary Antonini, who also teams up for BLUES FOR AN ALABAMA SKY). Peter and Anthony also saw Shaw's MAJOR BARBARA at Shawfest starring, among others, Fiona Byrne, who will be part of the panel with Anthony at the Spiegeltent on Saturday, August 9, at 10 am.
