Broadway theaters dimmed their lights at 7:45 pm this past Wednesday, January 19, in memory of Sidney Poitier, the stage actor (Tony nominated for creating the role of Walter Lee Younger in Lorraine Hansberry's A RAISIN IN THE SUN), movie actor (Academy Award for "Lilies of the Field"), director, and cultural icon who passed away January 6 at the age of 94.
