There is legally now a vacancy on the Cheektowaga Town Council. Following to a court ruling, council member James Rogowski was removed from office Tuesday
State Supreme Court Justice Mark Montour ruled that Rogowski's guilty plea to a misdemeanor resulting from the violation last February of an order of protection filed by his estranged wife invalidated his oath of office for the post.
Rogowski was elected to the post last November and his four-year term was to expire at the end of 2021.
