Brinkworth, Freedman win primaries for Erie County Family Court Judge

The hotly contested primary races for Erie County Family Court came to a close Thursday night with two winners.When the polls closed, Kelly Brinkworth won the Democratic nod with 45% of the vote. Brenda Freedman followed with 26%, Michele Brown had 21% and Joseph Jarzembek had 9%.

In the GOP primary, Freedman picked up 45% of the vote to win the Republican line. Brinkworth trailed her with 34%. Brown ended the night with 21% of the vote.

Freedman also appears to have picked up wins on the Independent, Conservative, Green Party and Working Family lines. 

Brinkworth, Freedman and Brown spent a great deal on TV ads leading up to the primary.  The Buffalo News reports total campaign spending for the three was close to $500,000.
