Monday, Buffalo Police and the Erie County Sheriff's Office put out a county Silver Alert, asking the public to be on the lookout for Ana Rodriguez, 74. She suffered from dementia and was last seen at around 1 p.m. Monday on foot along Lilac Street in South Buffalo, near South Park Avenue and Hopkins Street.
Police and sheriff's deputies conducted a search of the neighborhood for her late Monday into Tuesday. The Erie County Sheriff's helicopter was used Tuesday morning in the search for Rodriguez. Police said Rodriguez's medical condition and this week's frigid temperatures added urgency to the search.
Now, Buffalo Police say a drone located the body of a woman in a Lilac Street backyard. While they have not confirmed her identity, a family representative did tell the Buffalo News that the woman was Ana Rodriguez.
