Crane accident kills Tonawanda man

A Tonawanda man working on a crane in the city of Buffalo's Old First Ward was struck by the crane and killed early Thursday afternoon. The crane was located at a company in a heavily industrial area in the 200 block of Katherine Street. Authorities say it appears a large piece of machinery fell on the maintenance worker at BIDCO Marine Group, an industrial diving and marine construction company. The 27-year-old Town of Tonawanda man, Jeffrey Langenfeld, was declared deceased at the scene.

The incident happened just after 1:10 p.m. OSHA was called to the scene and will conduct an investigation.
