Buffalo is hosting the world's largest rubber duck this weekend. The six-story tall "Mama Duck" is making an appearance as part of the Maritime Festival.
"It takes about eight hours to build her and the boat that she sits on. And then another three hours to inflate her," Canalside Marketing Manager Sara Serafin said of the 11-ton structure.
"She comes with an army to build her."
The Maritime Festival at Canalside gets underway at 5 p.m. Friday and runs through Sunday.
"She'll be viewable from our whole boardwalk, at Canalside, during the Maritime Festival, all weekend."
While the spectacle of a massive duck may be grabbing attention, several events are scheduled.
For the second straight year, the annual Antique and Classic Boat Show will be held in conjunction with the Maritime Festival at Canalside.
