Heading out for St. Patrick's Day celebrations in Buffalo tonight or later this weekend? If so, you're celebrating in what one website says is the second-best city in the nation for this holiday.

The website WalletHub.Com ranked Buffalo number two among the best cities for St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Only Boston, Massachusetts scored higher and that city edged Buffalo by just over one point.

"I can believe Buffalo is one of the best cities from my perspective," said Buffalo mayor Byron Brown about the survey.

"I think we're even better than Boston, excuse me Mayor Walsh," he added with a smile.

Criteria for the survey including ethnic population, the number of Irish pubs, and how long the city has hosted a St. Patrick's Day Parade. Also included among the criteria are public safety and, yes, the price of beer.

Buffalo has two major St. Patrick's Day parades happening this weekend. The Valley Community Association's "Old Neighborhood" parade will take place on Saturday beginning at noon. Then, on Sunday, the United Irish American Association hosts the traditional Delaware Avenue parade. That event begins at 2 p.m.

The Erie County Sheriff's Department says they'll have extra patrols out to keep holiday celebrations safe through the weekend.
