Buffalo's Black Rock neighborhood now has its own museum. The grand opening of the Black Rock Historical Society, on Niagara Street near Hamilton, was celebrated Thursday night.
Among the artifacts on display that Doreen DeBoth, the Historical Society's chairperson, says she is most excited about several journals from the former Pratt and Lambert Paint Company.
"There's a lot in them. There's a lot of information in them. They even had a song book for the employees that's in there, besides photographs. And there's a written history of the plant in there too," sayd DeBoth.
Along with Black Rock, DeBoth says the museum covers the Riverside, Grant-Amherst and West Hertel neighborhoods. She says the Black Rock Historical Society will be open on Saturdays, for the time being.
