The adventurer who made history climbing the "Frozen Falls" has been honored by the city. At Prospect Point, on Tuesday, Niagara Falls Mayor, Paul Dyster, presented Will Gadd with a key to the city. Gadd, a professional ice climber, ascended near Terrapin Point, on January 27th. He says his whole experience in Niagara Falls was incredible.
"I'm gonna take home a lot of memories of the climb. And to share that climb, and this place with the world, is the coolest thing I've ever done in my career. Done a lot of wild things. And this is it. This is as cool as it gets. Right here, right now. The coolest place in the world," Gadd said.
Gadd used specially designed ice hooks and crampons on his boots. He says the climb, about 150 feet from the base to the top of the Falls, took him about an hour.
