How cold was it in Western New York last month? National Weather Service Meteorologist Tony Ansuini says February of 2015 will go down in the record books as being not only the coldest February on record, but the coldest calendar month ever in the history of record keeping here in Buffalo

WBFO's Jay Moran spoke with Ansuini about the new record.

Ansuini said the average temperature for the month of February was "10.9 degrees, that broke the previous record of 11.6 degrees set back in February of 1934."

Ansuini attributes the record to a the pattern of cold arctic air coming down from Canada.
