HarborCenter is a game changer, says Koelmel

Chris Caya WBFO News

HarborCenter, at Canalside, in downtown Buffalo, has "shifted the region's pendulum in a positive way." That's according to John Koelmel, President of HarborCenter. Members of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce got an update on the four month old complex on Friday from Koelmel. He says, HarborCenter is filling up nearby hotels and restaurants.

"The economic multiplier is measured in the millions in terms of the events that we've conducted and hosted as well as the day-to-day activities...I don't like to imply any sense of exaggeration, I mean it's literally millions and millions of economic multiplier that we've already generated."

Koelmel says, supply exceeds demand for HarborCenter's twin ice rinks, restaurant and soon to open retail space.
