Blowing snow causing difficult conditions

WBFO News photo by Eileen Buckley

Snow and blowing snow is making driving conditions difficult across the region Friday morning.  The National Weather Service issued a special weather statement noting the blowing snow will continue to impact the area.

Snow and blowing snow continues to move across the Buffalo Niagara region. Roads are snow covered and very slick. Blowing snow is reducing visibility to a few hundred yards at times.  Strong winds, gusting 20 to 35 miles per hour are whipping snow around reducing visibility. Driving is difficult.

Drivers should leave themselves extra time.  Traffic is snarled and very slow Friday morning  Many city streets are snow covered and icy in spots. Intersections are also slick.  Traffic is well-below speed.
