Ralph Wilson Stadium has been updated in the $130 million rehab and reconstruction program. That doesn't mean it doesn't need even more work.
The county has more than $4 million budgeted for repairs this year and is putting together the list of what will be done. It's in the stadium lease, with a formula deciding how much and a committee deciding which.
Public Works Commissioner John Loffredo says the committee from the county, the state and the Bills is working its way through a list of needed work and deciding what will be done. Loffredo says the facility is getting old.
"It's all maintenance items, replacing various pieces of machinery, structural repairs to concrete, plumbing, electrical, replacing transfomers. It's on and on. But, it's maintenance, nothing glamorous. It's probably mostly items the fan will probably never even notice," Loffredo said.
In past years, there have been projects the fans noticed, like a new scoreboard one year and a new playing surface another. Loffredo says most of the work can be done during the season although it will start soon.
