The National Weather Service has indicated that a band of moderate to heavy lake effect snow is shifting northward into the Metro Buffalo area. Snowfall rates of 2 - 3 inches per hour are expected with gusting winds reducing visibility. The snow band is located over Sloan, Cheektowaga and Lancaster and is likely to hit Buffalo, Kenmore, Williamsville, Clarence and other areas in the early afternoon.
