Storm's timely arrival snarls traffic across the Buffalo area

Western New Yorkers generally don't let a little snow slow them down too much.  The winter storm that blew through the area this morning though has done just that, due it's timely arrival just prior to the morning commute.

National Weather Service Meteorologist John Hitchcock says "unfortunately, the timing is very bad for the morning commute.  The snow has fallen just hours before the morning drive so the roads are going to be very snow covered and slippery this morning."

Snow covered Roads lead to numerous accidents beginning very early in the morning rush with the 198 Westbound closing from Parkside to Delaware due to a crash.  Police agencies across the area reported numerous fender benders.  Commuters were dealing with speeds as low as 25 miles an hour on major roads like the Kensington Expressway.

Hitchcock says the storm is expected to move south by mid-morning.
