Thruway Authority Chairman Resigns

WBFO News File Photo

The chairman of the New York State Thruway Authority has resigned.

Howard Milstein has reportedly decided to leave his position even though his term has not yet expired. The Billionaire New York City Developer  says it's time for him to focus on business interest once again.

The Thruway Authority has been criticized for its handling of the November storm which left some motorists stranded on parts of the 90 for as long as 30 hours.

Thruway Authority officials are said to have indicated Milstein's departure has been in the works for weeks and will not impact operations. They are in the process of finding a replacement to fill the unpaid post.

Governor Andrew Cuomo appointed Milstein to the position shortly after taking office in 2011.
