The Buffalo Bills and Rogers Communications have come to an official agreement to terminate the Bills Toronto Series.
Despite the announcement, Bills President Russ Brandon said in a statement to the media, " “We greatly appreciate the support we’ve received over the past seven years from all of the tremendous people at Rogers Communications. We will continue to work hard to solidify our footprint in Southern Ontario. Our fan base in this region remains extremely important to our organization and their support has been well documented.”
The Bills series in Toronto began in 2008 when Buffalo became the first NFL team to host a regular season game in Canada. Over the next six years, the Bills played six regular season games and two preseason games at Rogers Centre.
The news follows Terry and Kim Pegula's takeover earlier this year as new owners of the Bills. The Pegulas had indicated then that the Bills Toronto series would be coming to an end.
