'Beyond the Playbook': Bills and Vikings share common frustrations

With the Buffalo Bills hosting the Minnesota Vikings this Sunday, Matt Sabuda notes some common traits between the two franchises. As he points out on Friday's "Beyond the Playbook," fans of both franchises would like to forget what they have in common.

The Vikings and the Bills are the only NFL franchises to have played--and lost--in four Super Bowls.

Sabuda notes that fans share another common frustration: they have been waiting several years for the arrival of another great quarterback to lead them to glory.

The Buffalo Bills have struggled since Jim Kelly's retirement in 1997 to find a quarterback of similar stature. The team has had 14 starting quarterbacks during that span.

The Vikings, despite their frequent appearances in the playoffs, have been waiting even longer for a top-notch quarterback. Sabuda says it's been since Hall-of-Famer Frank Tarkenton "hung up the cleats" in 1978 that Minnesota has been without a franchise quarterback.

The Vikings will have rookie Teddy Bridgewater starting at quarterback this Sunday and Sabuda says that presents a great opportunity for the Bills and their fierce pass rush to control the game.
