A battle is brewing over reward money connected to the arrest of the shooter in the 2010 City Grill massacre. Community activist Darnell Jackson played a critical role in the arrest of Riccardo McCray in the case. He is preparing a lawsuit against Reverend Darius Pridgen and his True Bethel Baptist Church for leaving him out of the reward money collected for the arrest of the shooter. Jackson believes that he is owed as much as $20,000.
Pridgen states that the Erie County District Attorney's Office handled awarding the reward money. That money was given to those who provided information leading to identifying and arresting McCray. But Jackson was the one who brought McCray to the police.
The wording of the reward offer appears to be central to the case.
