Financial troubles have Niagara County residents concerned that the Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane could be headed for closure. Officials with the hospital admit that budgetary challenges have forced a number of layoffs and reductions in services. Hospital spokeswoman Carolyn Moore has stated that there are no plans to close the facility.
Still, local town supervisors are holding a meeting on Monday to establish a course of action for keeping the hospital open.
