Students study in new tea café

Buffalo State students are celebrating a brand new place to sip tea and other specialty drinks. As WBFO's Eileen Buckley reports, an Argo Tea cafe opened in the Butler Library giving students a new area to catch up with friends or study on campus.

"We have a beautiful facility now in what use to be the reference room," said Maryruth Glogowski, associate vice president of Library and Instructional Technology at Buffalo State.

Glogowski has watched the transformation of a section of the Butler Library turned into a high-tech tea cafe.

"There are wonderful, comfortable furniture for students to sit in.There are also tables where they can plug in their laptops for their USBs," said Glogowski.

The Argo Tea Cafe features healthy drinks of tea and coffee, along with healthy light-fare foods.

Glogowski tells WBFO News students frequent the library to conduct their studies. "Uur students are doing more research than ever. The number of downloads are astounding. The numbers are higher than they ever were," said Glogowski.

But even in the high-tech mobile age, Glogowski notes the upper floor of the Butler Library still contains  nearly 600,000 books.
