Thousands gathered in Roosevelt Plaza in downtown Buffalo for the annual ball drop to ring in the New Year. 
The large ball descended down the Electric Tower counting down to midnight to usher in 2013. The ball drop was followed by a huge fireworks display set to music. Those gathered cheered and rocked in the New Year.
