Though the solutions may be costly, neighborhood residents want something done about the dangerous traffic conditions around the intersection of Parkside and Florence.City Hall says 23,000 cars go through the intersection each day, racing off the Scajaquada or swerving around the curve which once took trolley cars between Parkside and Main Street.
There is a new traffic study looking at what to do about the speeding, the accidents and the near-misses at the corner. That study has proposals running into the hundreds of thousands of dollars to make it safer.
It was the topic Tuesday night in Saint Mary's School for the Deaf during an event sponsored by the Parkside Community Association.
"It's a very dangerous intersection," said Traffic Committee Chairman Richard Wolf. "It's been labeled as the third-most dangerous intersection in the city. There have been numerous accidents with severe property damage in the neighborhood across lawns, shrubbery. One house, a brick house, was totally damaged and was knocked off its foundation."

Public Works Commissioner Steven Stepniak says some changes might be made by spring.
