Approximately 1000 new trees were planted throughout the Buffalo region on Saturday.
Volunteers working with Re-Tree Western New York joined with UB Students in planting the trees in areas of the city and the suburbs. A stretch of South Park Avenue benefited from the addition of 60 new trees.
Re-Tree claims that they will continue their efforts to replace the region's lost trees as long as there are donations for their efforts.
