Canalside was packed over the weekend, with the Buffalo Irish Festival moving onto the Waterfront site for the first time.
Chairman Kevin Townsell says he has tried to put the fest on Canalside for three years, after decades of wandering around various venues in the area.
"This is not a really young crowd," said Townsell. "I would guess half the people here have never been to Canalside. It's neat. They're all excited."
This year, the sun and the heat brought large crowds to the the festival for music, beer, food and lots of Irish shopping.
