The recent case of an abandoned house in the Town of Somerset overrun with cats sparked public outrage.
The Niagara County SPCA is now looking for an equally passionate response Thursday when the so-called "Somerset Cats" will be up for public adoption.
Noting the many cats in need of homes, the SPCA will allow prospective cat owners to pick their own adoption fee on Thursday.
Three weeks after their rescue from squalid conditions, SPCA officials maintain the cats are ready to make the transition into adoptive homes.
