Buffalo, NY – The smooth song stylings of jazz vocalist Karrin Allyson shift into the blues with her latest release.
Her newest CD, "In Blue, has been topping jazz radio charts since it came out in August.
Wednesday night Allyson brings her special blend of the blues to Buffalo.
She'll be performing at 7:30 Wednesday night at the new Sphere Entertainment Complex on Main Street downtown.
Allyson's been called the "stuff that shivers are made of," "deliciously moody," even "spiritual."
And when it comes to theme albums, the jazz songstress knows how to pick them.
Allyson now has eight highly acclaimed CDs under belt.
In fact, her last one, "Ballads," a tribute to John Coltrane, was described by one critic as "perfect."
So, for her follow-up, "In Blue," Allyson says the critics were listening intently.
WBFO's Joyce kryszak reached Allyson last week by phone and talked with her about her latest musical journey.
