On Monday, the national Weather Service Buffalo forecasts moderate to locally heavy lake effect snow will continue through Tuesday across the western Southern Tier with significant additional accumulations. Bands of light to moderate snow will also continue southeast of Lake Ontario.

On Sunday afternoon, Wyoming County had their snow warning downgraded and Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties had their snow warning extended through Tuesday. See below for more details.
Winter Weather Advisory until 7 a.m. Monday.:
- Wyoming County
This means there could be additional snow accumulations of three to six inches. Visibility may be low and roads may still have snow when traveling. This could impact your Monday morning commute, according to the National Weather Service.
Lake Effect Snow Warning until 7 p.m. Tuesday:
- Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties
If you live in these areas you should expect heavy snow with additional accumulations through Tuesday of 18 to 30 inches in the most persistent areas. The most snow is expected across Chautauqua and western portions of Cattaraugus county. Travel may be very difficult as deep snow could cover the roads and visibility could drop below ¼ of a mile.
Lake Effect Snow Warning until 7 pm Monday:
- Southern Erie County
Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations are 2 to 3 feet in the most persistent lake snows.
Lake Effect Snow Warning until 7 pm Sunday:
- Northern Erie County
- Genesee
Heavy lake-effect snow is expected. Total snow accumulations are 10 to 20 inches in the most persistent lake snows. The greatest snow amounts in the Buffalo Metro area are expected across the nearby southern suburbs and possibly South Buffalo. Little or no snow is expected across the northern suburbs.
Travel Bans & Advisories
Travel bans for the towns of Brant and Evans and the Village of Angola in Erie County were lifted Sunday morning.
The travel advisory for Southern Erie County and the City of Buffalo in South Buffalo from Bailey Ave to the city line near Lackawanna has been lifted as of noon Monday.

Caution advised:
Chautauqua County has not issued an official advisory or ban, however, they are asking motorists to proceed with caution if they have to travel, and avoid travel if possible.
Major closings & rescheduled events:
The Buffalo Philharmonic Chorus’ performance of Handel’s Messiah, originally scheduled for Saturday Dec. 1st at the OLV Basilica has been postponed to Dec. 7th at 7:30 p.m.
Hilbert College reports that on Monday, Dec. 2nd, they plan to be closed except for "Remote Learning in Progress”
SUNY Fredonia has canceled all classes and activities for Monday Dec. 2nd and Tuesday Dec. 3rd.
