1 dead, 2 wounded in 2 separate shootings

A shooting Monday night in Niagara Falls left two men wounded, one in critical condition.

Police said they were responding to a shots fired call at 19th Street and Ashland Avenue just before 10 p.m. Monday, but no victims were at the scene, despite evidence of a crime.

Both victims were transported in separate private vehicles to the Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. One of them, a 35-year-old Niagara Falls resident, was stabilized with multiple gunshot wounds, before being transferred to the Erie County Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition. The other was treated at NFMMC for a wound to the lower leg.

The Niagara Falls shooting comes as a Buffalo shooting victim died of his injuries.

Buffalo Police were called to Bailey and Stockbridge avenues, in the city's University District, at around 10:20 p.m. Monday. The 30-year-old victim was taken to Erie County Medical Center, where he died.
