Buffalo woman pleads guilty to fatally stabbing her boyfriend

A Buffalo woman has pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing her boyfriend, as jury selection for her trial was about to begin.

Nateonna Roland, 23, pleaded guilty to first-degree manslaughter, a class B violent felony, in the death of her boyfriend, Brendan Benjamin, 21, last July during a domestic dispute on East Eagle Street. Benjamin was taken to Buffalo General Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.

The Erie County District Attorney's office says sentencing will take place on March 13.  Roland could get up to 25 years in prison and remains held on bail.

Mark Wozniak, WBFO's local All Things Considered host, has been at WBFO since mid-1978.
