Cheektowaga man receives 2-4 years for crowbar assault

A Cheektowaga man has been sentenced to 2-4 years in prison for the crowbar attack on his girlfriend.

The Erie County District Attorney's Office says Jonathan Williams, 31, hit his girlfriend in the face with a crowbar, causing a laceration that required 10 stitches.

The DA says he was supposed to be sentenced last summer, but failed to appear on the one count of attempted assault in the second degree.

He was later arrested in October by NFTA Transit Police officers, after crashing his vehicle into a house on East Amherst Street, near Parkridge Street, in Buffalo with a passenger and two-year-old child in the vehicle. Williams pleaded guilty to aggravated DWI (Leandra’s Law) and criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree from that incident.
