A Cheektowaga woman has pleaded guilty for her role in an identity theft ring that stole hundreds of thousands of dollars through unauthorized credit card charges. The U.S. attorney's office says 27-year-old Danielle Hamilton pleaded guilty in federal court in Buffalo to conspiring to commit access device fraud and aggravated identity theft.
Prosecutors say Hamilton was part of a ring that traveled to retail stores in Western New York and Pennsylvania and used unauthorized credit cards obtained through identity theft. They say the group used the cards to purchase $500 store gift cards and other merchandise totaling more than $300,000 between October 2013 and January 2014.
Hamilton faces sentencing June 13.
