Coinciding with this week's visit to the United States by Chinese President Xi Jinping, a delegation from the Chinese province of Chongqing is touring Buffalo. Mayor Byron Brown says they've come with a keen interest in business here.
According to a report by the Buffalo News, Tuesday's visit includes stops at SolarCity, the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus and Larkinville. It also includes a visit to the mayor's office.
"They're very interested in life sciences, they're interested in tourism and they're interested in advanced manufacturing, all very prevalent in their community," said Mayor Brown. "And they think there are synergies between what's happening in their community, what we're doing in Buffalo."
Though the visit is part of President Xi Jinping's official state visit, the leader is not among those visiting Buffalo.
