Antoni Cimolino's direction of Shakespeare's MACBETH at the Stratford Festival has been so well received that it's been extended to November 5. And locally, in advance of Curtain Up! (Friday, September 16) several venues have thankfully started early so that your theater going can be paced out. The first opening is GYPSY at MusicalFare in Amherst (September 7 at 7:00 p.m.) with a cast list that promises a hit. Then Donald Margulies' Pulitzer Prize winning play DINNER WITH FRIENDS has two couples questioning their marriage and friendship at Road Less Traveled Theater (500 Pearl Street, opening Friday September 9 at 7:30 p.m.). And OVER THE TAVERN'S Tom Dudzick is home to direct his comedy DON'T TALK TO THE ACTORS which opens at the Kavinoky, also Friday, September 9 at 7:30 p.m.
