Theater Talk: BPO joins SiDP Tuesday night, Evita sells out, the Academy tries to diversify

This Tuesday, Shakespeare in Delaware Park uses their "down time" between shows (The Winter's Tale ends Sunday night, July 17 and The Taming of the Shrew opens on July 28) to "put on a show" with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Music by Mendelssohn, Tchaikovsky, et. al. will be illustrated with scenes performed by the SiDP actors. It's free! but one night only .... Tuesday, July 19 at 7 p.m. on the new stage in Delaware Park. Meanwhile, EVITA continues to pack 'em in over at MusicalFare Theatre in Amherst, so if you want to go, reserve your seats early. Also this week, Anthony discusses diversity on Broadway and the lack thereof in Hollywood.  But the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is trying to do something about that, with new invitees for 2016.

Listen for Theater Talk, Friday morning at 6:45 and 8:45 during Morning Edition.
