Theater Talk: Curtain Up! has something for every taste

All across Western New York our theaters begin their 2015-2016 season with a flourish at the annual Curtain Up! With the installation of another star at the "Plaza of the Stars" outside 710 Main, a dinner at Shea's, and jazz at the Smith Theatre (adjacent to Shea's) there are many choices of plays, from musicals to straight theater, from serious and thought-provoking to light and humorous.

Curtain up events take place in downtown Buffalo, but also a little further afield for example at our local colleges. The Kavinoky (at D'Youville), A.R.T. (at Medaille), MusicalFare (at Daemen) and Buffalo Laboratory Theater (at Hilbert) all host events tonight.

This week's discussion centers on SLAUGHTERHOUSE FIVE at the Manny Fried Theatre, KING OF THE MOON (OVER THE TAVERN, PART II) at the Kavinoky, DOUBT put on by Buffalo Laboratory Theatre at Hilbert College, SPEED OF LIGHT at the New Road Less Traveled Theater's new stage inside 500 Pearl Street, and GRANNYBIRD at the Alleyway Theatre.
