Flat Water Tuesday: West Side Rowing Club

Local native Ron Irwin has turned his life into the basis of the novel Flat Water Tuesday.  Irwin and his principal character started in Buffalo and took up rowing at the West Side Rowing Club.

Irwin ultimately transferred to a New England prep school, where crew is the fundamental sport in a century-old rivalry with another elite prep school.

From Irwin's current base as a wildlife documentary writer in South Africa, he took a fictional look back at his youth.
